What They Don't Tell Us About Mars [2020-2021] rethinks the way we observe and understand the territory of the banal; the confines of everyday life and what we know, or think we know, about our immediate surroundings. It seeks to create a new, more personal narrative for the viewer, a symbolism of discovery or transformation through our own (mis)readings.

As the title suggests, I imagine seeing Earth as a new planet and seek to frame its strange, alien landscapes. The images are metonymic and oxymoronic constructions, where lines trace paths from open to closed spaces and vice versa, sometimes interrupted by geometric compositions that encompass the human element.

The visual games played between the natural and man-made spaces suggest a new visual taxonomy for what we perceive as real; a frame of reference that asks questions of our environment rather than providing definitive answers.
